From the village of Mejvriskhevi in the Shida Kartli region, Disveli Estate’s Shavkapito 2024 is a qvevri-made red crafted by winemaker Berdia Berishvili, expressing both the vitality of the Kartli terroir and the soulful depth of traditional Georgian winemaking. Its ruby hue and clear, radiant body reflect youth and natural ripeness. The bouquet opens with red currant and forest fruit — cherry, raspberry, and hints of pomegranate skin — forming an elegant and earthy aroma. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with firm, rustic tannins and lively freshness that define the Shavkapito character. The wine’s natural balance and texture give it a grounded, structured profile that lingers gracefully. Fermented in qvevri with indigenous yeast and only 0.5 mg/L of sulphur added for stability, this unfiltered wine remains pure and authentic, preserving the minerality and vibrant soul of Kartli’s soil.
