Sourced from the young 4-year-old vineyards of Shashiani, this Aleksandrouli is crafted by Tbilvino using the classic method with oak barrel aging, resulting in an elegant and structured red wine. Its pomegranate color and bright clarity reveal both varietal character and skilled craftsmanship. The aroma combines sweetish notes of red cherry and subtle herbal undertones, gently framed by the softness of oak. On the palate, it offers round tannins, balanced acidity, and a medium finish, with a smooth texture and a hint of fruit sweetness that lingers gracefully. The wine was fermented with selected yeast, filtered, and stabilized with a modest amount of free sulphur (30 mg/L) to ensure purity and longevity. The 3.5-hectare vineyard in Shashiani, though young, already yields grapes that capture the distinct freshness and finesse of this variety. Aleksandrouli pairs beautifully with roasted meats, lamb dishes, and traditional Georgian fare enriched with mushrooms or nuts. It also complements semi-aged cheeses and lightly grilled vegetables.
