This dry red wine is a premium expression of Otskhanuri Sapere, one of Imereti’s most ancient and powerful grape varieties, harvested in the distinct Zestaponi terroir. Crafted using classic winemaking technology and aged in oak barrels, this reserve balances the variety’s naturally wild character with noble, sophisticated notes. The 2021 vintage presents itself as a robust, highly structured wine with a commanding presence. The wine displays an intense ruby hue in the glass. Its multi-layered bouquet features rich aromas of black plum and ripe cherry, seamlessly blended with notes of piquant spices. On the palate, it is defined by a medium body and a vibrant, "cyanic" acidity characteristic of the variety. Despite the oak aging, the tannins remain firm and slightly rough, providing the wine with a masculine edge and exceptional aging potential. This Otskhanuri Sapere Reserve pairs perfectly with fatty meats, traditional Georgian BBQ (Mtsvadi), game, and strong, aged cheeses.Customer reviews:
