Produced in qvevri in the Mukuzani microzone, Atmisi’s Khikhvi reveals the refined yet vibrant character of traditional Kakhetian winemaking. Its amber hue and natural brilliance reflect both the craftsmanship of the cellar and the quiet maturation time imparts. The bouquet opens with gentle notes of green tea, herbs, and a hint of the earthy tone typical of qvevri wines. On the palate, it shows lively acidity, firm and slightly rough tannins, and a medium-length finish, combining structure and freshness in perfect balance. The wine was naturally fermented with indigenous yeast, and only a minimal amount of sulphur (25 mg/L) was added to preserve purity and stability. Khikhvi pairs beautifully with herb-forward vegetable dishes, grilled fish, and fresh green salads. Its aromatic depth and herbal edge also complement lightly seasoned poultry and Mediterranean-style cuisine. Part of Atmisi’s natural qvevri series from Mukuzani, this wine reflects the estate’s philosophy of minimal intervention and a pure, terroir-driven expression of Kakheti.
