This dry amber wine is crafted from the Khikhvi variety, one of Georgia’s most precious grapes, harvested in the Kakheti region. Produced by Bediani using the ancestral Qvevri method, this expression underwent full fermentation and maceration on the skins (chacha). The 2022 vintage reveals itself as a powerful, well-structured wine with a truly authentic Kakhetian soul. The wine displays a deep amber hue in the glass. The bouquet is dominated by ripe white orchard fruit aromas, enriched by the complex earthy notes of the clay vessel. On the palate, it is robust and full-bodied; the vibrant, "cyanic" acidity meets the rough tannins characteristic of traditional Qvevri winemaking. Combined with a 13.5% alcohol content, it offers a solid and energetic profile. This is a wine for those who appreciate the strength and directness of traditional amber wines. This Khikhvi pairs perfectly with grilled meats (Mtsvadi), traditional walnut-based dishes (such as Satsivi or eggplant with walnuts), roasted game, and strong, aged cheeses.
